Service Description

Bead embroidery is slow fashion at it's best. Embellish clothing, shoes and bags, or create stunning stand alone jewlery pieces. While these techniques are time consuming, they are not difficult to learn and the results are well worth the effort. These methods can also be applied to art quilts, 3D fiber sculptures and tradtional embroidery crafts. This class will be tailored to your personal goals, so come with a project in mind, but do not expect to finish it. You may choose to book multiple sessions so that we may cover more stitches and finishing techniques as you progress. Your supply list will vary with each project, we suggest coming by before hand to discuss our area of focus, review any materials you already have and shop for things you may need. Examples of topics we may cover as time permits: Backstitch, stop stitch, couching, bullion and half-hitched knots. All the classic embroidery stitches with or without beads. Backing materials, needles, beads and fibers. When to use what. Edging and fringe stitches for a professional finish or combining components. Bezeling around a cabochon or found object using peyote stitch and other techniques. Want to bring a friend or arrange a small group?
